GPAEA Announces Winners of 2025 Battle of the Books

Great Prairie Area Education Agency (GPAEA) is proud to announce the winners of this year’s Battle of the Books competition, held on May 5, 2024, in Fairfield, Iowa. The event featured an exciting day of literary challenges and enthusiastic participation from middle and elementary school teams across the region. As part of the day’s events, students also enjoyed a special presentation by Danica Davidson, author of numerous Minecraft novels.

Elementary Winners:

  • 1st Place: Oskaloosa I'd Rather Be Reading
  • 2nd Place: Albia Plot Twisters
  • 3rd Place: Battling Babbling Book Brawlers Centerville

Middle School Winners:

  • 1st Place: Mediapolis Knight Readers
  • 2nd Place: Davis County Bookworms
  • 3rd Place: Central Lee Hawks Team One

The Great Prairie AEA extends heartfelt thanks to all the students, teachers, and school districts that participated in this year’s event. Your dedication and enthusiasm made the competition a resounding success. A special thank you goes out to the volunteers who generously gave their time and effort and to the GPAEA Media Team for their invaluable support in organizing and executing the event.
