Internships

Great Prairie AEA is committed to collaborative partnerships.  We welcome requests for internships and job shadowing which supports our mission to make a positive impact for all kids.

COLLEGE STUDENT GUIDELINES

1. Verify Affiliation Agreement

   • Check with your college to see if an existing Affiliation Agreement with Great Prairie AEA is on file.

   • If no agreement exists, have your college department email one to kristina.jones@gpaea.org.

2. Submit College Internship Request

   • Once an agreement is confirmed to be on file, fill out and submit the College Internship Request Google Form.

3. Await Placement Approval

   • You will receive notification if your internship is approved and be assigned to a Great Prairie AEA mentor.

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT GUIDELINES

1. Obtain Counselor Approval

   • Speak with your high school counselor to get approval to job shadow with Great Prairie AEA in your desired special education field.

2. Complete Parental Consent Form

   • Print a copy of the

     High School Student - Parental Consent for Observation  form.

   • Fill out the form and ensure it includes a parent or guardian's signature.

3. Submit Your Form

   • Hand the completed form directly to the Great Prairie AEA staff member on the day of your observation.

   • The staff member will handle uploading the signed copy into the ACHIEVE system.
