PS101438 - Hearing State Leadership Co-Chair for Teachers of Deaf and Hard of Hearing: Part-time position available immediately. The Hearing State Leadership Co-Chair for Teachers of Deaf and Hard of Hearing will serve at a statewide level to provide collaboration, leadership and guidance for the state of Iowa. The position may be located anywhere in the state and will collaborate with the Iowa Department of Education to provide Teachers of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing leadership and guidance, convene and facilitate the Hearing Leadership Group meetings in coordination with the Audiology Co-Chair and develop a 3 to 5 year plan for a statewide system of hearing services. The position will prioritize topics for professional learning and maintain an electronic repository of tools, materials and resources on a pre-determined site. Candidates must have the ability to link intervention services to academic achievement in the schools to implement IDEA 2004, as well as be familiar with standard concepts, IDEA practices and procedures within the field of practice. Candidates must be appropriately licensed/certified by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners in the field of teachers of deaf and hard of hearing. Must have a bachelor’s degree, preferred master’s degree or Ph.D., in major area of service as well as five years of successful teaching experience.
